Rules for entering Egypt:

• A traveler to Egypt must prove a negative COVID-19 PCR test result translated into English or Arabic. The test should be carried out no later than 72 hours before the scheduled departure time of the aircraft flying directly to Egypt. In the case of persons crossing the land or sea border, the test should be carried out within no more than 72 hours before crossing the Egyptian border. The test result certificate must be original and contain the original stamp with the signature of the laboratory or QR code. Children up to 12 years of age are exempt from the tests.

• If the traveler, despite a positive test for coronavirus, crosses the Egyptian border, he will have to go to a five-day quarantine in a hotel or place of residence. The PCR test will be performed on the sixth day. If the PCR is negative, the traveler will be able to complete the isolation. However, if the result is positive, the isolation will continue for the next five days, and its quarantine will end without the need to re-test.  

• Important! - if you miss your flight due to quarantine, you need to contact your travel agent to arrange a new flight.

The above regulations do not apply to children up to 12 years of age and people with a certificate of full vaccination with a QR code, performed at least 14 days before the planned crossing of the border. The certificate should be presented in a printed form. The Egyptian side does not accept electronic versions. Egyptian medical services accept COVID-19 vaccination certificates that have been approved by the World Health Organization and the Egyptian Medicines Authority: Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Sinopharma, Sinovac, Sputnik, Johnson & Johnson.

• The Egyptian authorities did not specify the form of the document confirming receipt of vaccination against COVID-19.    

• You should take into account the necessity to incur additional costs related to the performance of subsequent tests, medical visits and transport to medical facilities.  In the event of a positive test for coronavirus, please note that airlines may reserve the right not to allow an infected person on board and to show a negative PCR test result.

• In order to obtain detailed information related to the period,  in which the test can be carried out before the planned trip and the conditions that must be met by the certificate specifying the test results, we recommend that you contact the relevant airline in advance.
